Distortion of pulsed signals in carbon nanotube interconnects

چکیده
This paper investigates the distortion of DC and radio frequency (RF) pulsed signals in carbon nanotube interconnects. A modified transmission line model for single-walled carbon nanotubes is employed for the simulation. Comparisons with the conventional AlCu interconnect are performed. r 2007 Elsevier Ltd. Taguchi Approach and Response Surface Analysis for Design of a High-performance Single-walled Carbon Nanotube Bundle Interconnects in a Full Adder
In this study, it was attempted to design a high-performance single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) bundle interconnects in a full adder. For this purpose, the circuit performance was investigated using simulation in HSPICE software and considering the technology of 32-nm. Next, the effects of geometric parameters including the diameter of a nanotube, distance between nanotubes in a bundle, and ...
متن کاملA Thermal Model for Carbon Nanotube Interconnects
In this work, we have studied Joule heating in carbon nanotube based very large scale integration (VLSI) interconnects and incorporated Joule heating influenced scattering in our previously developed current transport model. The theoretical model explains breakdown in carbon nanotube resistance which limits the current density. We have also studied scattering parameters of carbon nanotube (CNT)...
متن کاملBode Stability Analysis for Single Wall Carbon Nanotube Interconnects Used in 3D-VLSI Circuits
Bode stability analysis based on transmission line modeling (TLM) for single wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) interconnects used in 3D-VLSI circuits is investigated for the first time. In this analysis, the dependence of the degree of relative stability for SWCNT interconnects on the geometry of each tube has been acquired. It is shown that, increasing the length and diameter of each tube, SWCNT in...
متن کاملRepeater Insertion for Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotube Interconnects
Closed-form expressions for the optimized number and size of repeaters in multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) interconnects are presented. The contact resistance and inductive effects are taken into account. It is found that the propagation delay of MWCNT interconnects can be reduced effectively by inserting repeaters. However, the contact resistance has a significant influence on the optimize...
متن کاملA Comparative Scaling Analysis of Metallic and Carbon Nanotube Interconnections for Nanometer Scale VLSI Technologies
This paper addresses the critical issue of scaling limits of local interconnects, contact plugs and local vias made of metal. It is shown that the current carrying capacity of copper vias/contacts fails to meet ITRS current density requirements beyond the 45 nm technology node. Additionally, the electrical properties of local interconnects/vias made of carbon nanotube (CNT) arrays are analyzed ...
